In 1986 FAMKAT established a unique prize that can be won once a year at FAMKAT's International Cat Show in Budapest.
Full cats, above the age of 6 months, are eligible for the contest which is judged by a 7-member jury made up by celebrities. The selection of cats is first made by the judges who work at the show and the final list of 16 cats is drawn up by the Show Committee to ensure the top cats of each individual breed are well represented.
The Jury scores the cats from 0 to 20, and of the seven scores, the highest and the lowest are dropped. If all the remaining five judges give a cat the top scores, the total score equals 100 which is the highest number of points breed standards offer for a perfect cat.
Should the contest end in a tie, the contending cats are again presented to the Jury which will score these cats from 0 to 10 to make the final choice.
